Spectacular Barbie Vivien Leigh – Barbecue at Twelve Oaks from 2001, from Mattel’s Timeless Treasures line and inspired by one of the most recognisable scenes from Gone with the Wind.
The doll portrays Scarlett O’Hara, played by Vivien Leigh in the 1939 film, wearing the dress seen during the famous barbecue at the Twelve Oaks plantation. Mattel recreates the character with a collector-focused aesthetic, paying particular attention to the outfit, hairstyle and presentation.

Gone with the Wind, the adaptation of Margaret Mitchell’s novel, became one of the great productions of classic Hollywood. Vivien Leigh won the Academy Award for Best Actress for her portrayal of Scarlett O’Hara, a character forever associated with her career.
The Twelve Oaks barbecue scene takes place near the beginning of the story, before the American Civil War completely transforms the world of its protagonists. Scarlett attends the gathering in a delicate summer dress, surrounded by numerous suitors, while trying especially to capture Ashley Wilkes’s attention.
This edition recreates that very outfit: a full white dress decorated with green botanical motifs, dark waist detail, elaborate lace collar, gloves and a spectacular wide-brimmed hat, one of the character’s most recognisable looks.
