Barbie & Ken Army 1992 Stars ’n Stripes Deluxe Set Special Edition
Description
Original Barbie & Ken Army from 1992, a striking special-edition deluxe set that brings Mattel’s most iconic couple together in a concept highly representative of the early 1990s.
This set is part of the Stars ’n Stripes line, a patriotic-themed collection inspired by American military imagery that was very popular at the time. The joint presentation of Barbie and Ken makes this edition particularly attractive to collectors, as it is unusual to find both characters together in the same themed release.
Barbie and Ken appear dressed in desert camouflage uniforms, accompanied by accessories that reinforce the military aesthetic of the collection. Both wear red berets, coordinated jackets and trousers, plus bags, belts and field-inspired details that complete the set.
The packaging design is also very striking, with a patriotic-inspired background image and a front presentation highlighting the name “Army Barbie & Ken Deluxe Set”, together with the Special Edition seal.
In the early 1990s, Mattel released several dolls and sets inspired by professions, uniforms and patriotic themes. This edition reflects that period, combining classic Barbie styling with a themed presentation designed for both play and collecting.
One of the set’s most curious details is the presence of the “Rendezvous with Destiny” emblem, associated in American military popular culture with well-known units, adding even more visual personality to the box.
